Coreader for Codex
Install for Codex
The simplest way is to copy the request below and send it to your AI. If you prefer the terminal, the official commands are here too.
1. Install the plugin
Ask AI to install it
Send this prompt to your AI. You still complete the OAuth login and consent yourself.
Please install the official Coreader plugin. Official repository: https://github.com/vzheng56/coreader-plugins Run: 1. codex plugin marketplace add vzheng56/coreader-plugins 2. codex plugin add coreader@coreader If Coreader opens an authorization page, let me complete the sign-in and confirmation in my browser. After installation, remind me to start a new Codex task and use Coreader to show what I have read recently.
I want to run the commands myself
Run in your terminal
codex plugin marketplace add vzheng56/coreader-plugins
codex plugin add coreader@coreaderAuthorize and verify
Start OAuth
On first use, the client asks you to sign in and authorize Coreader in your browser.
Review scopes
Confirm the client and the read/write access it requests, then decide whether to connect.
Reload the client
Start a new Codex task after installation so the plugin, Skill, and MCP tools load cleanly.
5. Verify the connection
Send this prompt to your client. If your books are returned, installation and OAuth are complete.
Update, uninstall, and manage access
Update the plugin
Update commands
codex plugin marketplace upgrade coreader
codex plugin add coreader@coreaderUninstall the plugin
Uninstalling does not automatically revoke OAuth. Revoke the connection separately.
Uninstall command
codex plugin remove coreader@coreaderNo tools, or seeing invalid_grant?
- 1. Remove the existing Coreader plugin or connection from the client.
- 2. Revoke the old authorization on the connections page.
- 3. Run the install commands again and complete a fresh OAuth flow.
- 4. Start a new session and send the verification prompt again.
